Graduation 2010 1
Congratulations 2010 Graduates!

We at Thomas Edison High School would like to wish congratulations to our 2010 graduates!

This year, our students selected Mr. John George, Social Studies Teacher, as the commencement speaker for the graduation ceremony, which was held on Monday, June 7th, at Northrop Auditorium. The Thomas Edison Band and Choir were also there to perform.

We are so proud of all the hard work that was put forth to earn this accomplishment! We look forward to seeing you at our future games and events, and hearing about all of your future accomplishments!

Remember, once a Tommie always a Tommie!

Have a safe and relaxing summer!

Update on Turnaround Plan

We are pleased to announce that Carla Steinbach will continue as the Principal of Thomas Edison High School. It has been determined that since a formal turnaround plan is on file with the district and state, we are able to keep our existing Principal. We are very fortunate to have the tremendous amount of support from our staff, students, parents and community members. Many of you came together and attended informational meetings, sent letters to the state, and gave feedback to the district. Your support is invaluable! As we receive more information, we will share with you the next steps of the School Improvement Grant and how this will affect Thomas Edison High School.

Freshmen Exceed MCA Writing Test Goal. . .

. . . and the Assistant Principal had to shave his head!

Jerry Pedersen, Assistant Principal at Thomas Edison High School, challenged our Freshman by promising to have his head shaved if they increased their Writing MCA test score by 10% from last year. The Freshmen took on this challenge and exceeded that goal by increasing their score by 16%! So, after being “punked out” by the Cosmetology students, Mr. Pedersen had his head shaved! Way to go Freshmen! Stay cool Mr. Pedersen!
