CIS Writing 1301

I will keep this site updated with the "latest" power points and directions for this class.  I will include all of the updated power points for the entire unit.  Hopefully this will allow for the occasional absence to not affect course work being completed.

document CIS Writing 1301 Narrative Unit   --  Narrative Unit selections, assignments, and assessments and the appropriate due dates.
document First Day of School   --  Look at slides 6-9 for day's work. Place it in your notebook. Also, pick up story from Calhoun and have read before 7th hour Tuesday.
document Tuesday CIS   --  CIS Finish the assignments on slides 2-4
document Wednesday CIS   --  CIS look at slides 11-15. The homework is to OUTLINE your answer for each of the 3 scholarship essay prompts.
document Thursday CIS   --  Slides 8-12 for today's work. Please see me with any questions about the paper or the outlines. You need to push yourselves to figure where the place you are NOW and then use the prompts to explain how you have become this person.
document Friday's Checklist   --  If you did not get a copy of or lost the checklist explanation for the scholarship essays, here it is. (Nate...you were not in 1st hour, so I did not get one to you..shame-shame). Keep in my mind this sheet is only a guide. You do not have to follow it exactly. I merely want you to consider the idea of starting with where you are currently and using the essay prompts to help explain how and why you are in this place. It help give your "past" a focus and your "present" some realism and clarity.
document Tuesday Sept 6th   --  Slides 10-16. Lots of information yesterday. Yes...it is expected when you write your essays you take this kind of care in your writing. It will be a lot of work. It means you need to get started sooner rater than later.
document Wednesday Sept 7th   --  Slides 6-10. Pay attention to slide 10 and more scholarship essay information. No class Friday, so if you have concerns regarding your essays and possible organizational help see me after school.
document Thursday September 8   --  Look at slides 7-10. The last information until the papers' due date this Monday. You should have 2 papers BOTH between 1-2 typed pages. If you email it to me, I can try and get it back to you before the Sunday so you can make any last minute changes.
document Monday September 12   --  Slides 7-11 for today. Please be aware your 2 scholarship essays were due today! Also we are beginning our discussion about the information necessary for your narrative. If you wrote your scholarship pieces, you already have a lot of information you can use for the narrative.
