This rigorous, dynamic SLC allows students to learn skills in the cosmetology career fields while also providing them with a challenging academic program. ALl students in the Cosmetology SLC are required to maintain high academic standards in order to remain enrolled in the program.

Students usually begin their cosmetology coursework in tenth grade, learning skills that will provide the foundation for later coursework. The junior year finds students fully engaged in learning hands-on clinic skills as well as participating in e-mentorships with professionals in the community and post-secondary worlds. During the senior year, students participate in a culminating course in which they design, staff and maintain a working salon. Our unique partnership with Saint Paul Technical College allows students to accumulate over 500 hours toward the 1550 hour state licensure requirement before graduating from high school.
