Volunteers at Second Harvest Food Bank in NE Minneapolis

At Thomas Edison, volunteers come from all walks of life.  Students, teachers, support staff, administration, and volunteers all work together in creating a vibrant school community.

Our volunteers contributed more than 2,300 hours to Edison during the 2011-12 school year. Besides working in classrooms and tutoring students, volunteers helped with mailings, phone calls home, e-mentoring, and much more!

We offer a diverse array of volunteer opportunities for the 2012-13 school year.  Many volunteers serve as classroom assistants or tutors during the school day (8:00 am -3:00 pm).  Others work with English Language Learners, some help students research college opportunities and craft resumes in our College and Career Center, and others help during one of our after-school programs.  From the welcome desk to the classroom, from parent meetings to basketball games, volunteers have a presence!

Do you have an innovative idea for your role as a volunteer?  Let us know, we might be able to make it happen!
