LEAF Students Bring in Fall Harvest
LEAF Students Bring in Fall Harvest
Monday, September 18, 2017 10:00 AM

Students in Mr. Toby Schroeder’s EASYPRO course harvested Fall vegetables and herbs last week.  The tomatoes, pumpkins and basil were brought to the Edison kitchen, where they were cleaned by our young gardeners and prepared for lunch on Friday by our cafeteria staff.  The garden, located near the Athletic Plaza on the Edison campus (the greenest campus in the state of MN), was planted and maintained by Edison students and our partners from SparkY.  Click on the link above to read more about this story.

In the first installment of the Get to Know a Tommie series, we will be introduced to Mr. Ramone Wilder, our 10th Grade Dean.  Mr. Wilder is in his first year at Edison.  He represents the Northside with pride, and brings to Edison experience working with Northside youth, incuding time at North High School.  We think Mr. Wilder is pretty darn awesome.  But don’t take our word.  Click here to learn more about Dean Ramone Wilder.

Superintendent Ed Graff
Message from Superintendent Regarding DACA
Friday, September 08, 2017 8:50 AM

"MPS, like many school districts, organizations and businesses in Minnesota and nationwide, is made better by the immigrants who work and learn in our schools," writes MPS Superintendent Ed Graff.  "We are gravely concerned and stand with the leaders of many large urban school districts around the nation in speaking out against [the] White House announcement that the DACA program will be ended — whether now or in six months. We join with those leaders in asking Congress to act quickly to pass legislation to protect the DACA provisions and remove the uncertainty facing so many of our students and families."  For Superintendent Graff's full remarks, click here.
