Edison's Students and Staff Raised Over $4,500 at the NE Empty Bowls Event

Edison's art teachers Krista Schuurman and Rachel Hoemke along with Sam Nygren, Ally Englund, and Robert Tratz along with Northeast community potters Anthony Huonder and Jason Kaping, worked with Edison art students to create and donate hand crafted bowls for the event. The purpose of this event is to raise hunger awareness in our community. They raised $4,500 to give to local charities that fight hunger in Minneapolis! Several staff members volunteered at this event along with Edison students. A huge shout-out to everyone who helped support this cause.  
 
Event coordinators:
Krista Schuurman - organized Edison students and staff to help out at this event
Aaron Neumann - organized soup donations, advertising, helped find potters 
Susannah Dodge- coordinated volunteers, helped find potters/coordinate bowls

Bowl creations and decorations: Northeast potters - Anthony Huonder and Jason Kaping, Rachel Hoemke, Sam Nygren, Ally Englund, Robert Tratz, all Edison Ceramics 1 and 2 students, Art Sampler students, and Stacey Athorn's choir students.
