Course Overview

Geography is a yearlong 9th grade Social Studies course that uses an integrated approach to understand how to use the tools of geography to better understand and appreciate the interaction between humans and the physical world.  This course draws heavily from the classic disciplines of Economics and History.  However, connections will be drawn from a variety of the Social Studies subfields such as Sociology, Political Science, Anthropology, and Psychology.  The combination of these fields will permit us to develop a deep understanding of our place in the world.

As a college student at the University of St. Thomas I minored in Geography and GIS.  With this major I gained an appreciation for travel, culture, food, and weather that I never realized I had.  Geography quickly became a passion, and I am excited to have the opportunity to teach this course!
