This is a short quarter. For seniors, it is only 7-8 weeks long!

We will start the fourth quarter by editing and finishing the paper on Beloved. Then we will move into studying film as a text. We do a couple of practice analyses with a couple of short films and then we will watch Hitchcock's Psycho. We will cap this unit by writing a paper that analyzes the shower scene in Pyscho to understand why it was so effective. It is one of the great movie scenes of all time!

Depending on the time remaining in the year, we will either do a short unit on the image of women in advertising, or work with a second, probably more contemporary, movie.
