WINTER WEATHER Winter weather is here, and it will stay for a while. Rarely, we may have to close school to help ensure the safety of our students and staff. If we do, we will let you know as soon as possible by phone, text, social media, and website or through your local news station. Call us at 612.668.1300 to update your contact information. Check out our inclement weather policy to know more about why we might cancel school.

It is officially flu season.  The flu is a respiratory disease caused by a virus that attacks the nose, throat, and lungs. It is not the same as the “stomach flu.”

We’d like to remind you if your student has a fever of 100 degrees or more with a cough or sore throat, please keep your student home and tell your school about these symptoms. Your student should stay home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication. By keeping your student home we can help prevent spreading the flu in our schools.

You should seek medical attention if your student has trouble breathing, bluish skin, a rash, extreme irritability, lack of energy, is unable to drink enough water, or you have any other concerns.

The Minnesota Department of Health recommends everyone get a flu shot.  You can get this at your local pharmacy or clinic.

For more information, contact the school nurse Gina Dudley at 612-668-1319 or the Minnesota Department of Health at 651-201-5414.
