The Health and Beauty 201 course is an overview of cosmetology theory and skills at an intermediate level. The purpose of this course is to help students explore and develop fundamental knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for a career in the Cosmetology Industry and related fields. The emphasis is on hair care, hair styling, hair cutting, infection control, communication, basic electricity, anatomy and physiology, career opportunities, life skills, professional image, advanced haircutting techniques, permanent waves, chemical relaxers, reformation curls, hair color, MN cosmetology laws and rules, and safety and sanitation,
The “hands on” work shops for this class will include: Shampooing, Conditioning Treatments, Scalp Massage, Curling Iron Techniques, Blow Drying Techniques, Finger Waving, Pin Curls, Roller Sets, Basic Manicure and Pedicure, Paraffin Dips, Facial, Specialty Permanent Wave Wraps, Virgin and Retouch Relaxer Applications and Color application methods.
