About Me
Hello! My name is John Holmlund and I have been teaching at Edison since the fall of 2014.  I grew up in small town North Dakota and moved to central Illinois when I was 13 where I attended high school. I earned a Bachelor's in Physics and a Master's in Rhetoric and Technical Communication at Michigan Technological University in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I teach Physical Science and IB SL Physics, and I am a coach for the FIRST robotics team here at Edison.

Course syllabi, assignments, and other materials can be found at

Homework & Tutoring Support Times
I am here late almost every day.
I have my availability posted at my door and on the computer on my desk, typically my own room (128) but 122 or 207 for robotics on Tuesday (and every day during robotics season)
The best time to make up work with me is MWF during Advisory or Fridays after school

I Am From-Yo Soy De
I am from turkey dumpling soup to get three more meals out of Thanksgiving dinner, ring salad with celery and Spam, superburgers because making an actual meatloaf is doin' the most.
I am from peonies covered in ants in the front yard, leather saddles on my grandfather's ranch, on the smell of fresh paint and bacon every time I entered my grandparent's house.
I am from school is your job.
I am from Sweden & Germany, North Dakota, Central Illinois, the Upper Penninsula of Michigan, and--now--Minnesota.
