Teaching History:

I completed my student teaching here at Edison in the spring of 2010. I taught English 11. After that I taught English 12 at Chanhassen High School for a teacher who was on maternity leave. Following that, I taught for a semester (another long-term sub position) at Minnetonka High School where I taught English 10 in the general program and English 10C and Study Skills two in their alternative program for students with mental health issues.

I finally ended up back at Edison High School in the Fall of 2011. I am happy to be back! Edison feels like home. I currently teach Honors English 10, English 10, and English 11.

Degrees and Licenses:

I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in the Spring of 2010 after completing my student teaching here in Minneapolis. I have a B.A. in Teaching Communication Arts and Literature in grades 5-12.

My license is a MN State Teaching License in Teaching Communication Arts and Literature grades 5-12.

Teaching Philosophy and Expectations:

My teaching philosophy is simple: EVERY CHILD CAN LEARN. It's my job to help your child learn as much as they can about reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

My expectations are simple as well: be PROMPT, be PREPARED, be POSITIVE, be PRODUCTIVE. These, I believe, fall under the category of RESPECT. In order for me to help your child learn, he/she needs to be in class on time, ready to learn, have a good attitude in class, and enaged in classroom activites. Without these, learning will be hard to accomplish in class.
