Positive Coaching Alliance Workshop

Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 6:00 PM

Edison High School Media Center and Cafeteria

We strongly encourage all parents and student athletes interested in participation in Edison sports to attend a Positive Coaching Alliance Meeting.

This invaluable workshop for student-athletes align with Positive Coaching Alliance principles shared with coaches in our Double-Goal Coach® workshops as well as with parents in our Second-Goal Parent® workshops, getting all three groups - coaches, parents, and athletes - onto the same page.

Double-Goal Coach® workshops teach student athletes how to become a Triple-Impact Competitor, impacting sports on three levels: working to improve oneself, teammates, and the game as a whole.  Improving oneself draws on the principle of Mastery of Sport, where emphasis lies on effort, learning, and bouncing back from mistakes.  Improving teammates ties to Filling Emotional Tanks with the right mix of truthful, specific praise as well as constructive criticism. Improving the game as a whole means advancing the sportsmanship values by Honoring the Game.

Our Second-Goal Parent® workshop teaches another, more important goal: teaching life lessons through sports.  In this workshop, sports parents learn why and how to focus on that second goal.

We look forward to seeing our Tommie athletes and their parents at this invaluable event!
