Ahmed applied and was chosen to be a member of the 2015 Congressional Student Advisory Council. As a member of the Council Ahmed worked along side 12 other high school students from the metro, as well as Representative Ellison. After five meetings, hours of individual research and preparation, the students were given the opportunity to present policy recommendations to their Congressional House Representative.
On November 11th the Council gathered at the Northside Achievement Zone and Ahmed proudly spoke on the topic of decriminalization. Representative Ellison was very complimentary of Ahmed's engaging narrative and how he seamlessly used and individual story juxtaposed with data and statistics that supported his thesis.
