Six Edison Students were Honored at the 20th Annual Senior Leadership Breakfast

Congratulations to Oshana Reich, Jasmine Lynn, Haylee Irwin, Nailah Heard, A'nia Ray and Ser Vang for being honored at the 20th Annual Senior Leadership Breakfast that was held on Saturday May 2, 2015 at the Davis Center. These students were nominated by Edison staff based on the following categories: academic achievement, arts and innovation, athletic leadership, citizenship award, social justice leader and leading with compassion.  Way to go Tommies! 
 
2014-2015 Award Category Criteria
 
• Academic Achievement OSHANA REICH
o Maintains consistent good grades or has shown a significant academic improvement 
o Takes pride in his/her/their academic achievement 
o Willing to help others achieve good grades 
o Demonstrates an open mind and the desire to learn and teach 
 
• Arts and Innovation JASMINE LYNN
o Exemplifies originality and dedication in their art 
o Creatively uses the arts to address issues affecting young people 
o Demonstrates innovation in their work and artwork 
o Encourages others to participate in arts programs 
 
• Athletic Leadership HAYLEE IRWIN
o Demonstrates dedication to the sport/s he/she/they plays 
o Shows commitment to help and encourages others to achieve 
o Goes above & beyond areas of competition & exemplifies leadership by example 
o Maintains a positive attitude and shows consistent good sportsmanship 
 
• Citizenship Award NAILAH HEARD
o Possess a positive attitude and strength of character 
o Displays an understanding and a practice of civic responsibility 
o Participates in school and community activities and encourages others to do so 
o Committed to organize activities to improve their school and community 
 
• Social Justice Leader A’NIA RAE
o Demonstrates dedication to activities at the school district/ community level 
o Promotes equality in his/her/their school (ex: social, gender, and racial equality) 
o Shows deliberate leadership around fostering a welcoming and inclusive 
o Works to make a difference for others at their school and/or community

o Encourages others to get involved in community service or other activities
