I am excited to be a Tommie and begin my sixth year at Edison High School! I will be working with Math Concepts, Advanced Algebra, and IB SL1 (Precalculus) students.
I began my teaching career 16 years ago at a bilingual school in Guatemala City. After finishing my undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota, I traveled to Guatemala to write a thesis. I told my family and friends that I was only going to stay for a year! Six years later, I returned to the U of MN to obtain my teaching license and completed my Master in Education in Mathematics Education.
I work hard to share my love of Mathematics and to provide opportunities for students to understand both the “how” and “why” of different math concepts. I hope my communication skills in English and Spanish, life experiences, and personal qualities will be an asset to the Edison community. I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with and learn from the students at EHS!
