Edison Parking Day Event
On September 15, Edison Design students in the CTE department planned, designed, and built a parklette (mini park) with interactive activities and food in 2 public parking spaces on Central Ave & Lowry Ave in NE Minneapolis. This project is in conjunction with Women in Landscape Architecture and is part of Park(ing) Day, an international event held every September. "The mission of PARK(ing) Day is to call attention to the need for more urban open space, to generate critical debate around how public space is created and allocated, and to improve the quality of urban human habitat".
Here are the student designed activities:
Food: Edison "E" cookies baked by students using our custom 3d Printed Cookie cutter & candy
Activity/Take Away: making mini food out of sculpey clay
Activity: messages from the community written on whiteboard
Theme: Festive/Edison - Edison blue and gold balloons and welcome signs in multiple languages
Take Away: Decorate your own 3d Printed pop socket
