I am thrilled and honored to serve as an Assistant Principal here at Thomas Edison High School.
I have worked for Minneapolis Public School students since 2001. I taught social studies at two MPS contract alternative schools, eventually moving into a leadership position with the Metropolitan Federation of Alternative Schools (MFAS), a nonprofit that serves all the contract alternative programs in Minneapolis and St Paul.
In 2010, I joined MPS as a School Improvement Specialist, working directly with the leadership teams at the MPS contract alternative schools, our special education programs, and at Cityview, Longfellow, and North High.
In 2014, I was fortunate enough to move to Edison as our Data and Assessment Coordinator and got to know all our students and staff during those two years I was in that postion. In the 2016-17 school year, had the great opportunity to coordinate Edison’s SHARP program (School Within a School credit recovery program).
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Minnesota (1999), a Master in Teaching Degree from The Evergreen State College (2001), and an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of St. Thomas (2015). I am licensed in the State of Minnesota to teach 7-12 Social Studies and have my K-12 Principal license.
I LOVE being a Tommie, but during my downtime, I love to read, walk around the lakes, bike the Minneapolis bike trails, and tryout new places to eat across the Twin Cities. My husband Mark and I live in the Audubon Park neighborhood of Northeast Minneapolis.
I look forward to continuing to serve our Edison community! Go Tommies!
