April is Autism Awareness Month and Edison held it's fourth annual Autism Art Fair. Over 70 people attended this event and we raised about $450 dollars. The funds raised from this event will help students participate in Community Based Instruction. Evidence has shown that students retain knowledge and skills when they are able to generalize skills learned in the classroom into real life settings. These funds will help students to be able to practice monetary transactions in the community, and have access to educational field trips they would not otherwise have.

Students worked hard at creating these originall art pieces and are coached in the social aspect of the art show ahead of time in talking with people about their art. Kids from all levels of our classrooms are generalizing social skills and were so excited to talk about their art. They were very excited when people bought their work.

We appreciate your support.

Light hors d'oeuvres were provided by Sen Yai Sen Lek.
