It was an evening of fun and excitement as Edison staff welcomed new and returning families to Edison's open house.  We broke attendance records this year with over 460 families attending this event! The halls and classrooms were filled with anticipation as students met the new administrative team, teachers, athletic coaches, and clubs/activities advisors. 

 

After the open house, everyone joined in the fun at the 10th annual Community School BBQ get together. This is no ordinary BBQ...free food, entertainment (Night Stones rock band consisting of Edison students), and free shuttles from MPS eastside schools to the BBQ held at Edison. Even the Star/Tribune  and  Journal  checked out this amazing event.  

 

These past ten years, the community has brought all MPS eastside schools together to kick off the school year to celebrate our students. This year, records were broken with over 3,500 people in attendance. Eastside schools (principals and teachers), district staff, Edison students, parents and members of the community, dished up brats, hamburgers, chicken, with all the fixings. MPS new Superintendent, Ed Graff joined in and served ice-cream to families, visited classrooms and introduced himself to staff and students. We are looking forward to another successful year at Edison and thank the community, businesses, alumni, MPS district, MPS eastside schools, and families for their continual support and partnership.
