Biography:

I received my Masters in Art Education from the University of Minnesota and my Bachelors of Fine Art with a focus in Illustration from the Art Institute of Boston. I previously worked as a freelance illustrator/designer and nonprofit arts administrator. Before coming to Edison, I taught at local art centers; in adult community education and taught classes for adults and children with disabilities through a nonprofit art organization. I also was a reserve teacher in both Minneapolis and St. Paul public schools.

I bring my passion for teaching the arts to students as well as my past experiences in both the industry and nonprofit sector into my classroom. I provide engaging projects for my students that relate to their own life experiences and their identities and goals. I also connect in-school knowledge and skills with the larger world and make connections to career choices in the art and design industries. In addition to teaching digital art/design courses, I run an after school design club and participate in Outdoor Club camping trips. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, painting, hiking, kayaking and camping. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Students may find course materials on Google Classroom. This webpage will be their main source for turning in projects as well as a space for lesson resources. I will post all project directions via video or slides on this webpage so students may review materials as needed or if absent.

All courses I currently teach offer students college credit at select colleges. Students automatically earn the credit if they get a grade of a B or above. They can use the website - CTEcreditmn.com to track their credits and see what schools accept them.
