Edison's 9th grade biology teacher, Anna Beal gave students an opportunity to create lesson plans in genetics and lead classes in a teaching activity that used the genetic words they have learned: Heterozygous, Homozygous, Genotype and Phenotype as well as Mitosis and Meiosis. The students who volunteered to teach the class met as a group during advisory and were responsible for developing lesson plans, leading classroom discussions and answering questions from their classmates. There were a total of 7 students (3 females and 4 males) leading these classroom activities. The following students were involved this week: Elie Nederloe, Glenn Peirson, Shealen Selmon, Genevieve Benson Ni Cheallachain, Moti Benti-Novotny, Jada Lewis and Kenneth (Kenny) Walton.
