This year, Edison’s Tennis Team had an amazing season that took place both on and off the court. Coach Chad Forde has been an inspirational leader to this team and recently they developed a new partnership with the boys’ tennis team from Blake High School. Edison’s Boys’ Tennis Team has more than doubled in size this year and when one of our teammates’ tennis racquet broke during a tournament, his opponent from Blake offered him a racquet allowing him to finish the match. Highlights from the 2012-13 season:

• Academic Gold State Champ Recipients (our team of 24 players average GPA is 3.79)
• More than doubled the size of the team from last year
• Tripled their wins
• Most wins in 14 years
• First playoff win since 1998-1999
• Fatee Xiong and Tou Yia Lee made it to the City Conference Doubles Championship
• Kevin Cheng and Ken Her won sections doubles tournament match

Edison’s Boys’ Tennis Team is looking forward to continuing their success next season and developing new friendships with other high school tennis teams.
