We are proud to announce this year's Athena Award recipient is senior Laura Ingalls! Each year the Athena Awards are presented to female student athletes who display excellence in athletics and academics.

Of her time at Edison, she said, "A memory I have from Edison, that always sticks out to me, would have to be my time in athletics. I was pushed to do things I had never done before and pushed outside my little comfortable box. Going into soccer for the first time in years and going into varsity was a big step and such a fun experience with all the amazing friends I got to meet and the community I got to build. Going into softball was scary because I had never played, but I had grown up with my brothers in baseball and we always loved it as a family. The athletic department was a place I found community and my friends at Edison and I’m so grateful I was pushed out of my comfort zone."

Laura will be attending Moberly Area Community College in Columbia, Missour. She plans to pursue an Associates Degree in Nursing.
