Welcome

My name is Daniel Nierengarten. I am proud to be a member of the Edison and Nordeast communities. I am enjoying my 4th year teaching in the DCD department at Edison High School. I previously taught students with Specific Learning Disabilities for 4 years at a high school in Fairfax, VA. I earned my Masters in Education in Secondary Special Education and Transition Services from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Prior to enrolling in my M.A. courses of study, I spend three years in service with Peace Corps working at a school for students who were deaf and hard-of-hearing in Riobamba, Ecuador. I received my B.A. in Political Science from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN in 2009.

I currently teach emerging academic classes (math and literacy) as well as a career exploration class. Additionally, I have the opportunity this year to co-teach an English 9 class with Ms. Nicole Brinza. During the fall sports season I am also the J.V. Boys Soccer coach. My wife and I live in the Northeast neighborhood of Audubon Park and are proud to invest in Edison High School and in the greater Northeast community. Go Tommies!
