Congratulations to the Thomas Edison High School students that were recognized by The BrandLab for the work they accomplished throughout their Digital Media Capstone class this year. Volunteers from BBDO Proximity advertising agency and The BrandLab worked with students to share their knowledge about the advertising and marketing industries while the students worked through a Request for Proposal prepared by BBDO for their pro-bono client, The Como Zoo. The students then presented their groups' Creative Brief on how to attract teens to the Como Zoo at BBDO's downtown office for industry executives. The presentations exemplified the students' impressive skills in marketing/research, public speaking, group work, and graphic design. Members of the "winning" group were Ahmad Abdullahi'15, Jackii Bravo '14, and Jasmine Tappin '14.
Excitingly, The BrandLab offers opportunities for students to apply for summer internships working with advertising agencies in the Twin Cities and post-secondary scholarships. This group of students showed exemplary promise for which 7 students were specially recognized. Christian Hidalgo '14, Alexis Jenson '16, Jacob Mulay '14, Jasmine Tappin '14, Eboni Washington '14, and Wa Yang '15 were offered paid summer internships. Noel Niyonkuru '14 and Wa Yang '14 received scholarships to the institution of their choice. Edison High School is proud and excited to support these students' future endeavors through this successful partnership.
