Edison's debate team was very competitive at the Urban Debate League Championship. Co-captains Darnell Hooker and Ricardo Colin placed 2nd in the Junior Varsity division. Ricardo was the 5th best speaker and Darnell was the 2nd best speaker overall. Pa Lor placed as first speaker in the entire novice division and placed 2nd overall in the novice division. Taylor Rodriguez competed for the first time at Urban Debate League Championship and partnered with a student from North as part of a “hybrid” Rookie league and was undefeated in the first round. Her partner from North competed at the final round and placed first in the Rookie league. Congratulations goes to Darnell, Ricardo, Pa and Taylor for their amazing achievements.
