Raul Lazcano Gonzalez has accepted the Dease Scholarship (a full-tuition scholarship) and will be attending the University of St. Thomas and plans to major in International Business.
Raul is currently a full International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate and is currently the Vice President of two business leadership programs: Junior Achievement (production) and Voyager. He is also a member of the National Honors Society and served as an officer of the Latinos Unidos student group. Raul ran cross country and received a bronze medal for the 3200-meter relay race.
Community volunteer work is important to Raul. He was a co-chair to a student driven advertisement campaign that highlighted Edison’s students and programs. He sought sponsorships from local businesses to fund a full page advertisement in a local newspaper.
Edison has been a good fit for Raul, “my sister attended Edison in 2014 and this is where I planted my roots.”
Edison offers several career/college access programs: Achieve Minneapolis, College Possible, Gear Up College Readiness, and Project Success. These programs assist students with job placement, post-secondary enrollment, and scholarship applications.
