Freshman Giovanni Green was nominated and selected as an EJ Henderson "Community Captain".  Requirements of the award are that recipients have a 3.0 GPA, are a Varsity Football Player, and have an extensive record of volunteering and leadership within their community.  As a recipient of the award, Gio was recognized on the field at the Vikings Bears Game on December 20th, 2015, and awarded a $1,000 donation to the charity of his choice.  

Just two days after the game, Gio and five of his teammates caught up with Vikings defensive back Zavier Rhodes at the Masonic Children's Hospital to donate toys and pajamas to youth patients.
