Edison Students Advance to State National History Day Competition

Several Edison students participated in the Minneapolis Public Schools' District NHD competition held at South High School on Saturday, March 21, 2015.The students all spent countless hours researching and analyzing information about their self selected topic that needed to relate to the theme; Leadership and Legacy in History. When the judging was complete at the district competition, five Edison groups were selected to go on to the State National History Day Competition that will be held at the University of Minnesota on Saturday May 2, 2015. The student projects moving on are listed below:
•Fatee Xiong qualified for state for his website on Albert Einstein.
•Alexis Jenson and Citlali Guillen-Parra qualified for state for their website on Casar Chavez.
•Yileng Vang and Maxime Lao qualified for state for their website on Martin Luther King Jr.
•Emilie Zibble qualified for state for her documentary on Nellie Bly.
•William Burrington, Liam Davis Temple, Jordan Nisan and Yahye Jama qualified for state for their performance on Floyd B. Olson.
