Senior, Emilie Zibble is this year's Athena Award winner. She is Edison's number one varsity singles Badminton player and was Captain of the Girls' Tennis team. She placed 8th in Bars at the JV Conference for Gymnastics.
Her involved with athletics goes beyond the courts. Emilie states, "Becoming a part of the Gymnastics team as a seventh grader really opened my eyes up to how important it is to really get involved personally with those around you in your school and community. As a quieter person, my whole life had been reserved for my close friends and family. Through athletic involvement, I learned so much more about my potential and what I have to offer other people."
Emilie gives back to the community by volunteering at events throughout the Twin Cities and beyond. She is the President of Edison's Voyager Leadership Program, a program that focuses on teaching students the skills necessary to build partnerships with local and national businesses. Emilie is a member of the National Honors Society, IB Diploma Candidate, and was chosen to be on Edison's Student wall of honor.
Emilie plans on attending either the University of Minnesota Twin Cities or the University of Puget Sound with open options.
