Gabriel Spinks Named as New Student Representative for the Minneapolis Board of Education

Edison sophomore, Gabriel Spinks, has been selected by the Minneapolis Board of Education to serve as their next Student Representative replacing Student Representative Shaadia Munye from Patrick Henry High School.

Spinks is well known for his leadership skills at Edison through his involvement with Junior Achievement (a program that is designed to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise,

business and economics to improve the quality of their lives), Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) and by leading student Socratic seminars, tutorials and debates. 

Spinks says his goal is to “represent all MPS students by listening, engaging and attempting to make sure all voices are brought to the table.”
