This was Edison's first time hosting a Personal Project Fair for all 10th grade students and we had over 100 students showcased their work. Students enjoyed talking to staff, students, and families about their projects. These projects are the capstone of Edison's IB Middle Years Program, preparing them for project management skills they will need in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and other advanced courses.
Students select a personal project which allows them to exhibit the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, demonstrating their skills of being inquirers and reflective thinkers.
Some projects you may see at the fair are: building a computer, knitting warm winter items to donate to homeless shelters, writing a dystopian novel about climate change, designing jeans, becoming a certified Zumba instructor, organizing a volleyball tournament, glass blowing, along with many others.
Thanks to everyone who helped make the Personal Project Fair a great success.
