Caps and gowns and graduation photos

Seniors have received a link in their email to sign up for an appointment to pick up their cap and gown AND have their graduation photo taken.

All appointments are for Wednesday, May 26. We will distribute caps and gowns in the gym lobby and take photos and videos in the lobby and on the plaza behind the gym. Appointments will take about 30-45 minutes each. This is the only day we have everything set up for caps and gowns and photos so it is important that all seniors keep their appointment. All seniors should pick up their cap and gown and have a photo taken even if they are unsure if they will graduate.

Senior Survey

Seniors have been asked to take several end-of-the-year surveys. Seniors must take the Senior Information Survey (sent by Ms. England) so counselors know where to send transcripts, can mail home diplomas or other important information and get in touch with seniors if something important comes up at the end of the year or over the summer. Counselors need this information and the survey must be completed before cap and gown pick up.

Materials return

Seniors can return books and materials as soon as they are no longer needed. They can be dropped off in the media center OR if the senior is in distance learning they can be dropped off in the gym lobby on May 26.

Chromebooks can be returned June 4 – June 8 in the media center or at the Welcome Desk in the main office. If a senior is attending summer school they should NOT return their chrome book until summer school is done.

Last day of class for seniors/Senior Celebration/Friday, June 4

June 4 is the last day of classes for seniors. We are planning a Senior Celebration for that afternoon- seniors will report to advisory and then join their class on the plaza by the gym for music, games and fun. Seniors in distance learning are welcome to join their classmates. The celebration will begin at approximately 1:45pm and will be outside only. No students will be allowed to re-enter the main building.

The celebration continues until 6:00 pm but seniors are welcome to leave earlier if they have other commitments. Snacks and beverages will be served after 3:00 pm. Only seniors may attend.

Graduation Day- Tuesday, June 8

There have been many changes to the protocol for graduation this year- this is the information we have right now. There may be changes if the situation or rules change again.

Graduation Tuesday, June 8 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in the auditorium. The ceremony starts promptly at 5:00 pm and will be done by 6:00 pm.

Seniors will meet at the Convention Center in Exhibit Hall B a little early (3:30 or 4:00 pm, specific instructions will be included with the cap and gown) to practice before the ceremony. Guests will not be admitted to the Auditorium until 4:30 pm. Guest cannot attend the practice but are welcome to wait in the foyer outside the auditorium. Students will be allowed to walk across the stage. Families and friends are encouraged to remain seated after the ceremony to allow the graduates to exit the auditorium before joining them in the area outside the auditorium.

Everyone must wear a mask in the Convention Center- this is a large indoor gathering so masks are still required.
