Edison's robotic team has successfully completed the build season and spent the last day (check out Drew's pictures and video) practicing the final run before the robotics competition in April. The robot will remain "bagged" until the competition.
The team took advantage of their last practice day by running the robot on the carpeted media center (be sure to check out Drew's pictures and videos!) The team will continue to meet every Tuesday until the competition in April to build backup parts and possibly make a similar sized robot with the same drive train so that our driver, Levi can practice driving and strafing.
The competition will run from April 2nd -4th (with the 2nd being a practice day) from 8am -6pm. This has been the team's most successful build season yet as they were able to build a working robot within 2-3 weeks giving them more driving practice with our robot than in the past. The team still faced frustrations, but were able to pull through as a team and create the best bot they could. The approach this year is a bit different than years in past as they hope to be a support robot.
Thank you everyone for your help and support. Be on the lookout for more updates as we continue to get ready for the competition in April. We hope to see you there!
