Lance Kragness

Mr. Lance,

Hello, my name is Lance Kragness.  I was born and raised in North Minneapolis and went to Minneapolis Public Schools, Kindergarten through 12th grade.  I graduated in 2001 from North Community High School and continued my education graduating at the top of my class Summa Cum Laude from Metro State University with an Individualized Studies degree in Community Leadership and Youth Advocacy. Recently I graduated from the University of St. Thomas and received my Master’s degree and Teaching Licensure as Academic Behavioral Strategist as part of the Minneapolis Public School/University of St. Thomas Special Education Cohort 2018.  I am currently continuing my education with Minnesota State University Mankato seeking my Principal Licensure.

I started my career with Minneapolis Public Schools, working in after-school programs and also for the YMCA Beacons program in 2003.  In 2006, I was given an opportunity to travel the world as a business manager in the music industry, but my passion for helping youth and seeing our children succeed brought me back into the education field in 2013 which I served as Academic/Behavior Dean at Edison High School until starting my teaching career.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am happily married with 4 children of my own at home.  I also enjoy being a leader in my community and spending time with my friends.  I love all sports (especially football), shoes and traveling.  I have a passion to serve people and help everyone succeed.

2019-2020 School Year:
