A Bit About Myself
I have been teaching in Minneapolis since 1999, and at Edison since 2008.  My first teaching job was in Nepal, but now I live in the neighborhood; I love walking or biking to school and working in my community.  I have been teaching College in the Schools Writing Studio since 2004, and I still enjoy it every day.  I am passionate about helping students develop their voice and learn how to use it to communicate with different audiences.  In my class, we use a writing workshop approach to assess our own writing and give each other feedback.  We also read and discuss a variety of texts to develop a critical stance so that we can "enter the conversation" on current issues like race, language use, and education.

Part of my day is also spent coordinating the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (MYP).  I help teachers write curriculum, visit classrooms, support students with the Personal Project, and inform the Edison community about our academic programs.  This role has helped me see the bigger picture of Edison and understand different subjects, teachers, and students.
