National Honor Society Focuses on Giving Back to the Community: Encourages All Students to Donate to a Charity Group

It has been a busy year for Edison’s National Honor Society…

We just finished the co-planning with the senior leadership group, the Snow Daze Masquerade as well as all Snow Daze activities. This Friday, we will crown the 2016 Snow Krewe (takes place of snow daze royalty of the past) in which the winner will be determined by the group that raises the most money for their chosen charity. Participants in the Snow Krewe groups are self-chosen groups that have a cause to promote for the betterment of our community. The charities for this year's groups are Women for Women, The Juvenile Diabetes Association, St. Jude's, and Plumpy'Nut for Unicef.

In addition to Snow Daze, we have also co-planned the Homecoming festivities/dance and the Sadie Hawkins Dance.

Upcoming events include helping facilitate and plan the Beach Party dance with BEACONS.  We also have our second of three annual blood drives coming up on Wednesday, March 2. Our final blood drive through Memorial Center will be in May.

In March we will start our new member drive and we will be looking for Edison students with a 3.2 or higher GPA and strong skills in leadership, scholarship, character, and service.
