Minnesota Vikings players, cheerleaders and mascot Viktor the Viking presented the Edison Community & Sports Foundation, MPS, and Edison High School representatives with a $100K grant
through the National Football League (NFL) Grassroots Program (a partnership between the National Football League Foundation, the Minnesota Viking and LISC).
This grant will be used to convert the Pete Guzy Field into a highly visible example of environmental stewardship for benefit of students and community.
Principal Carla Steinbach opened the ceremony with a greeting and Edison Alum, Dan Kuch, trumpeter played the Vikings team and Edison's school songs, Ward 1 City Council Member, Kevin Reich introduced the speakers; Michael Goar, MPS Superintendent, Stephanie Johnson, MWMO Programs Principal, Andriana Abariotes, Twin Cities LISC Executive Director, Niles Schulz, ECSF Board Member, Matt Croaston, Office of U.S. Congressman Keith Ellison, Lester Bagley, MN Vikings Executive Vice President and EJ Henderson, Youth Football Manager.
