Patrisha Studevan Receives the 2013 ATHENA Leadership Award

Patrisha (a.k.a.Trish) Studevan has been selected as Thomas Edison High School’s 2013 ATHENA Award winner. This award is given to female athletes who achieve the highest level of professional excellence, dedicate their time to improve the quality of life of others in the community, and actively support other women in recognizing their leadership skills. Trish has shown her excellent leadership skills by being a captain for volleyball (3 years), basketball (1 year) and softball (2 years). She received the Most Valuable Player award (3 years) and Conference Award (2 years) for volleyball. Trish also received the Most Valuable Player award (2 years) and Conference Award (2 years) for Softball.

Highlights of her athletic career at Edison include:

Batting over .500 in a season (softball).
Scoring 31 points on senior night vs Minneapolis Henry High School (girls’ basketball).
Striking 13 people out in one softball game.

Trish participates in Edison’s performance theater program and recently performed in the Viva City performances. She spends time volunteering for a local all women’s club and helps these women with community activities. Trish plans on attending Anoka-Ramsey Community College and continuing to play volleyball and softball. Her goal is to transfer to a university in California majoring in law enforcement.
