Edison senior Karen Lopez is one of only two winners of an annual college scholarship awarded by the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC). She was honored at a ceremony at Plaza del Sol in St. Paul on May 9th.  Congratulations, Karen!  

History of the scholarship: In the early 1990’s a group of entrepreneurs had the dream of starting a program that would offer higher education opportunities to low income Latino students who might also face legal challenges that prevent them from accessing financial aid.Thanks to their hard work, the LEDC and its membership were able to create the Latino Scholarship Fund (LSF). In 2006, LSF awarded its first two scholarships.
