Edison Advances to State with Seven out of Nine National History Day Projects Qualifying for the State History Day Competition

Congratulations to student participants who competed at the National History Day Competition that took place on Sunday, March 23 at Anwatin Middle School. Edison did very well this year with 7 out of 9 projects advancing to the State Competition at the University of MN on May 3rd - http://education.mnhs.org/historyday/state-history-day. We also had one project (3 students) earn Honorable Mention. Way to go Tommies!!!

State Qualifiers:
1 - Sia Thao, George Vang and Leng Vang for their website on the Treaty of Versailles
2 - Ania Rae, Jasmine Valentino, Genessa Page and Jahnae El for their group performance on the Black Panthers
3 - Ismael Mendez and Oshana Reich for their group performance on the Cuban Revolution
4 - Haylee Irwin, Gaochee Pha, Lucy Cheng, Julian Tiger and Janet Romero for their group exhibit board on the Stonewall Riots
5 - Jackie Zelaya and Nicole Idrovo for their group website on Child Labor - Mother Mary Jones
6 - Isiah McGill for his individual performance on Jackie Robinson; and
7 - Tomas Reznicek for his individual documentary on the Doolittle Raids
