Edison's track/field team and Northeast youth track/field teams joined together with Ward 3 City Council member Jacob Frey and Ward 1 city Council member Kevin Reich to commemorate the newly renovated track/field at Thomas Edison High School.
The evening started out with a run from Webster elementary to Edison’s track and field. Edison's girls' track team won state last season and had the opportunity to challenge City Councilman Jacob Frey to a race on Edison's new track. It was a close race with Jada taking the lead, Mariana Cress came in second and a close finish between Councilman Jacob and State Champ Jia for third!
The Northeast youth track/field teams, one of the largest track/field teams in the city, uses Edison's track regularly for practices. Edison's track has been redesigned to conserve water making it one of the "greenest" tracks in the city.
