Northeast schools' bands and the Northeast Community Band came together for the 2nd annual Northeast Band Festival. This tradition started last year when Lesley Earles, Edison's Band Director, learned that band students would not be participating in Viva City.

There were approximately 200 performers from Pillsbury Elementary, Waite Park Elementary, Marcy Open, Northeast Middle School, NE Community Band, and Edison. The evening started off with Edison's Rock band. Throughout the evening, each band took the stage and had a couple of representatives share what they liked best about being in band and school. The Northeast Community Band spoke about the benefits of staying in band and the lifelong opportunities that comes with being a musician.

The evening ended with all bands performing a combined piece  "Ode to Joy" conducted by Lesley Earles.

We thank everyone for making the 2nd annual Northeast Band Festival a memorable evening and look forward to next year's festival.
