World History is a yearlong 11th grade Social Studies course that uses an integrated approach to understand the history of the World and its people. This course draws heavily from the classic disciplines of history and geography. However, connections will be drawn from a variety of the Social Studies subfields such as economics, sociology, political science, anthropology, and psychology. The combination of these fields will permit us to develop a deep understanding of the history of the world. In this course we will study both western and non-western societies, providing a solid basis for understanding our own unique cultural heritage and an appreciation of diverse cultures across the globe.
There are six broad units that will be covered throughout the entire school year (1-3 during Semester One, 4-6 duing Semester Two) as well as a National History Day Unit. Please refer to each units subsection for unit powerpoints, assignments, notes, etc.
